Our language instruction programs fall into two main categories: English courses, services and products for the residents of Marrakesh, and Arabic courses, services and products for people from all over the world.

The EALS curriculum has been specifically developed to bring English-speakers from the basic to the advance level of Arabic proficiency and usage, and Arabic-speakers from the basic to advance level of English proficiency and usage.

As of October 4, 2018, EALS has introduced French Language Courses to its language instruction programs.

General English Courses

Those who would like to perfect the English language will benefit from our course. Our General English courses focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills as well as vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation.  Classes are interactive and student-centred. We encourage our students to work individually, in pairs and in groups.  Each class follows a course book, and teachers also use their own materials in lessons.

Beginner  Course

The aim of the Beginner English Course course is to teach our students to understand and use simple vocabulary, sentences, expressions, and basic phrases useful for everyday life. The student learns to Introduce him / herself, ask and answer questions about personal details about where they live, their family information, shopping, eating, their neighborhood, their work situation, and their free time activities.

Beginner English Levels (1-3)

The Beginner English Course introduces low beginning students to English by addressing the four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Emphasis is on learning how to understand and be understood in English and reinforcement of the four skills with additional grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation practice based on common social interactions and contexts.

Beginner English Levels (4-6)

This course is designed to help high beginning students practice and strengthen the four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Using an integrated approach to English language acquisition, pre-existing and new grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics are emphasized across the four skill areas to improve listening proficiency, pronunciation, and written structures.

Pre-Intermediate English Course 

In this course, pre-intermediate students reinforce basic skills and are introduced to increasingly more complex materials to improve proficiency across the fours skill areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Using an integrated approach to English language acquisition, students will be introduced to competency-based and topical situation to enable them to further develop written and oral communication skills.

The aim of the course is to teach you to understand and communicate in familiar situations, using sentences. The student should start to manage most situations related to living and traveling, to describe or express your opinion on topics of personal interest such as experiences, events, hopes and ambitions, and express opinions, reasons, and plan. Student should also be able to read and understand information on familiar topics, and to write simple formal letters and text on familiar matters

Intermediate Course

The Intermediate English Course are an extension of the foundation courses, broadening vocabulary, raising the level and accuracy of speaking and writing and increasing confidence. Specialist subjects related to work or the interests of the learners are often incorporated into the classes. More challenging texts from newspapers, expressions and idioms are typical elements of these courses. The goal is to be able to participate in a variety of social or work related conversations having developed both fluency and accuracy. 

Intermediate English Levels (1-3)

In this course, low intermediate students reinforce basic skills and are introduced to increasingly complicated materials to improve proficiency across the fours skill areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Intermediate English Levels (4-6)

This course helps high intermediate students expand their critical thinking, pronunciation, reading, grammar and vocabulary skills using an integrated approach to English language acquisition.

By the end of the course the student should be able to express your opinion and hold discussions with native speakers on a fairly wide variety of topics with a level of fluency and spontaneity that makes communication possible without strain. The student should be able to understand people speaking English on radio and television, and understand the main points of complex pieces of writing and to understand and write, clear and detailed text on a wide range of subjects, both concrete and abstract, including technical discussions in your field of specialization, and express advantages and disadvantages of different points of view.

Advanced Course

The Advanced English Course prepares you to speak with native speakers fluently, flexibly, spontaneously, and confidently in social, academic, and business situations. It also prepares you to understand, read and write, well-structured text on complex subjects, both concrete and abstract, and show recognition of implicit meanings.  Take notes and write formatted and logical text for professional purposes.

Advanced English Levels  (1-3)

This course is designed to help low advanced students refine their intermediate skills and introduces advanced listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Emphasis is on accurate use and comprehension of intermediate and advanced grammar and vocabulary in authentic conversation and writing pieces.

Advanced English Levels (4-6)

This course helps high advanced students refine and practice their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Emphasis is on speaking extemporaneously, use of metaphors and idioms, and identifying intent and emotions by recognizing tone, content and word usage. An increased focus on reading serves as the basis for dynamic oral communicative practice.

By the end of the course the student should be able to: speak with native speakers fluently, flexibly, spontaneously, and confidently in social, academic, and business situations. The should also be able to understand, read and write, well-structured text on complex subjects, both concrete and abstract, and show recognition of implicit meanings and take notes and write formatted and logical text for professional purposes.

English Listening Course

This is a course dedicated to improving your listening skills.

There’s a world of difference between hearing and listening.

Out of the four basic  skills of communication which are listening, speaking, reading and writing, listening is the first learned and the most used. Listening is one of the most important skills you can have. How well you listen has a major impact on how well you learn a language.

Why do we listen?

You improve your listening skills through exposure to a wide range of listening materials such as films, documentaries, taped speech,  and radio and television shows. Therefore, this course focuses entirely on developing listening skills through various forms of media.

English Speaking and Pronunciation Course

This is a course that targets English speaking and pronunciation. We use interactive activities to give you the most opportunity to practice, as well as provide some individual attention for the areas you need to improve the most. We will help you speak more confidently in English-speaking contexts

Business and Professional Courses

The Business English course is designed to introduce students to basic and more advanced vocabulary used in various areas of the business world such as job search, investment, finance, marketing/ negotiations, labor relations, environment and social responsibility, organization and management, and international trade. Students will also be introduced to the components of business culture.

In this course, you will:

  • Study a range of language associated with a variety of business topics.
  • Practice targeted vocabulary through role plays and discussion about business.
  • Focus on writing different business reports and do presentations.
  • Have the opportunity to work with other students who  own their own business, or who are employed by small and large companies and who are focused on improving their proficiency in Business English.
  • Study real business situations and dialogues extracted from current the business world both in their locale and internationally.

Tourism English

This course introduces the key vocabulary and skills needed to speak English with tourists and also introduces the English needed for conducting guided tours effectively.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs):

Having completed this course the learner will be able to:

Utilize the appropriate language tourist information officers and their staff must use to explain guided tour itineraries,

Politely take a guided tour booking from customers while obtaining the proper information needed to complete reservation booking;

Provide a guided tour using commentary that gives a complete description of tourist attractions including geographical features and historical information;

Effectively provide potential hotel guests with information during enquiries; – Make a hotel reservation for guests utilizing the correct English vocabulary and terminology; – Check guests in and out of hotels in the correct sequence; – Understand and use the correct English language phrases for check-in and check-out; – Resolve customer complaints with helpful and non-offensive English language phrases.

English for Academic Purposes

This course is designed to help advanced students refine their grammar, listening and speaking, reading, and writing skills.

The transition from secondary education to university education is sometimes a daunting task. It is important to be equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary for success.

We offer academic English language courses which are geared towards providing knowledge and functionality in an English-medium tertiary environment. These courses are aimed at those students whose first language is not English and who would like to fast-track their proficiency in academic reading, writing, listening and speaking. We have worked with many university and college departments and are therefore able to customize our courses to suit individuals’ specific needs.

Medical English

Medical English is  for doctors and medical professionals  who want to  speak English  to their English speaking patients with correct pronunciation of medical terms in order to enhance the patient-doctor relationship.

Emphasis is placed on acquiring  the skills necessary for working in a hospital or clinic environment, such as patient approach, giving opinions and recommendation. Our Medical English course is designed to improve the medical professional’s confidence in their speaking and listening abilities, increased their knowledge of the way English is used in Medicine and to improve their skills in specific areas, such as formulating questions and discussing patient case histories.

Exam Preparation Courses (TOEFL, TOEIC Preparation

Guided-study TOEIC

This study program focuses on preparing you for the TOEIC test. You will develop your reading, listening and writing skills in a variety of contexts from real-world settings taken from the workplace. Regular test practice is also incorporated into the programme to ensure that you are as prepared as possible when taking the test.

Guided-study TOEFL

The TOEFL test measures your ability to use and understand English at university level. This study program helps you to develop your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in order to perform the academic tasks required to get the score you need. Regular test practice is also incorporated into the programme to ensure that you are as prepared as possible when taking the test.

Guided-study SAT

The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. SAT consists of three major sections: Critical ReadingMathematics, and Writing. The SAT is typically taken by high school sophomoresjuniors and seniors.[8] to measure literacy and writing skills that are needed for academic success in college.  Our exam preparation course is designed to assist the student in the reading and writing section of the test.

Guided-study IELTS

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test that measures the language proficiency of people who want to study or work in environments where English is used as a language of communication. An easy-to-use 9-band scale clearly identifies proficiency level, from non-user (band score 1) through to expert (band score 9).

Academic or General Training

IELTS is available in two test formats – Academic or General Training – and provides a valid and accurate assessment of the four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
